Four Week Block Booking, 4 hour weekly sessions - Studio Membership
Service Description
This studio provides a relaxed friendly environment - it is also spacious and well-equipped. These bookings are kept to a maximum of four people. Suitable for me? - This is suitable for those who have attended a pottery course and are looking for a friendly studio to make work at their own pace. If you are new to my studio, you will be required to take part in a half hour induction to familiarise yourself with the space and studio rules. What prior experience is required? - Experienced in all aspects of pottery making and glazing processes. What is included? - 4 hours of studio use per week on Monday mornings and over a four week period - 1 staff member available to answer questions regarding studio and tools at the start of your first session - no tuition is included here. - Full use of ceramic equipment (electric equipment such as kilns and the pug-mill will be operated by the technician). - 1 shelve to store your work - Choice of more than 10 dipping glazes - Choice of more than 20 brush-on glazes - A vast choice of tools and equipment to use - Possibility to show/sell work at the studio shop/gallery. Work selected for sale needs to be first approved by José. For work sold, a 30% commission is charged by way of a deduction from the sale price. What is not included? - Pottery tuition - Extra shelving space. Ask if required. - Firing - Firings to be paid separately. Firing costs are £6 per pound of clay. - Clay - clay will be available at the studio for an extra cost. - Cleaning the studio - the studio must be left as you found it at the start of your lesson. Workshop start and finish times: - Users should arrive on time and not before their time begins. - Users should start clearing up (cleaning work space and tools and putting work away) 15 minutes before their time ends. Cleaning/Organisation by users: - You are responsible for cleaning up your work station, this includes the wheel and surrounding floor area. - Tools should be well cleaned with soap, dried and put away. - Unused clay should be put back in the bag and resealed. - Surplus used clay should be taken from the wheel tray to the recycle bin. - Glaze buckets should be cleaned and put back in the designated area. Cleaning/Disinfection: - Before you arrive the studio work surfaces and wheels will be disinfected by a member of staff and you are expected to disinfect the areas you used before you leave.
Cancellation Policy
Refunds and cancellation policy i) Unfortunately, since I work on my own for myself, no refunds can be given after lessons have been paid for and confirmed. In special circumstances, where due notice is given and if possible, I will try to accommodate a change in students’ requirements but this is in no way guaranteed. ii) For bookings for groups of eight sessions, no flexibility is given regarding the option for students to make changes to the scheduled bookings or to compensate missed lessons. No refund will be given for any unused sessions after the course end date. iii) For bookings for groups of four sessions, no flexibility is given regarding the option for students to make changes to the scheduled bookings. iv) For bookings for private sessions, no flexibility is given regarding the option for students to make changes to the scheduled bookings. v) For gift vouchers, lessons or courses must be booked and confirmed within one month of issue. Bookings are subject to availability. Where no booking is confirmed after one month of issue, the gift voucher expires and no refund is given. Communication with Jose Carvalho Ceramics i.
