Please be aware that an adult is needed for supervision. The adult is welcome to help and participate with the child/children.
How does it work?

A pottery kit will be provided by Jose Carvalho to be collected by the parent from Jose’s studio, located by Ravenscourt Park.

Weekly or bi-weekly online (using zoom technology) session of 60 minutes run by Jose Carvalho.

When dried, work to be returned by the parents to Jose’s studio to be bisque and glaze fired.

When work is fired and ready, parents to collect from Jose's studio.
What is covered in a session?

Go through the basics of hand-building in pottery with those that haven’t done pottery before

We will have different themes to explore such as, seasons, gardens etc.
What will you need for your child to be able to attend the session?

What is included in the pottery kits?

2kg stoneware clay (enough for four sessions)

1 brush

1 paper cup

1 wooden tool

1 small portion of dry clay to make slip

5 different glaze colours - 10ml each pot
How many week does the pottery kit lasts?

The kit is designed to last for four sessions. The first three weeks we will be creating work with clay and the last session will be to decorate/glaze the work.
What is the total cost for the four sessions and kit?

The total cost, including the kit and firing the work is £150 per child.

What happens when the four sessions end?

If you would like to continue, you just need to pay for extra clay and extra session(s). Each extra 60 minutes session costs £25 per student. Firing costs are included in the sessions cost.
IMPORTANT: For a child to be able to complete all the stages of pottery process - create, decorate and glaze - it is important that your child is committed to all four sessions. In order to attend later sessions, the child must have first attended the earlier sessions.
If you are interested, please book below. If your child has friends that would like to attend, please feel free to share this link with them. I require a minimum of eight children to run the club. Once I have responses, I will confirm your child’s place. Places will be allocated on a first come first served basis.
